A Rolex Daytona awarded to Vic Elford after his 1968 racing victory is heading to Phillips from Jerry Seinfeld’s collection. Estimated at US$100,000–200,000, the watch links an early chapter of the Daytona’s history with Porsche’s breakthrough endurance win. The New York auction takes place on December 5–6, 2026.
Jodi, a rare Nanotyrannus skeleton, sold for US$47.3 million at Sotheby’s after a 12-minute bidding battle. The result makes it the second most expensive dinosaur ever sold at auction. A 1965 MV Agusta Grand Prix motorcycle formerly owned by John Surtees sold for £967,000, approximately US$1.3 million, at Bonhams. The result set an Italian motorcycle auction record, according to the auction house. Its factory racing pedigree and connections to Hailwood and Agostini helped draw intense bidding.
A circa-1941 Enigma I cipher machine sold for £203,600 at Bonhams, offering a tangible connection to the history of wartime codebreaking. Its matching numbered rotors, original case and documented museum loans add to the story of this surviving device. A Scubacraft prototype associated with the James Bond film Spectre sold for £51,200 at Bonhams.
