Heritage Auctions will be including in its May auction an original oil painting portraying Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Bess Flowers, and Vivien Oakland from the 1929 movie classic, “We Faw Down.” The oil painting has been extensively researched and confirmed to be the work of early motion picture costume and set designer, Louise Lauritzen McCaslin (1896-1985). Auction bidding will open on May 3rd, 2024, at HA.com

The Helen and David Milling Collection, featuring the finest British and American art pottery and glass from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, will be showcased at Bonhams this December. Over the span of half a century, the Michigan couple meticulously assembled an exceptional collection from some of the era’s most renowned potters, designers, and artists. This distinguished assortment comprises more than 350 lots, to be presented across three sales this December: 20th Century Decorative Arts and Ceramics on December 5 in London, Modern Decorative Art & Design on December 12 in New York, and the dedicated Helen and David Milling Online auction from December 8–18 at Bonhams Skinner.

Honus Wagner, also known as “The Flying Dutchman” was a professional baseball player who played shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1897 to 1917. He is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time and was one of the first five players to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937. Off the field, Wagner was known for his humility and sportsmanship. He was respected by both teammates and opponents for his gentlemanly behavior and fair play.

One of the most interesting facts about Wagner is that he was the first baseball player to have his own baseball card. The T206 Honus Wagner baseball card is considered to be one of the most valuable and rarest cards in existence.
