Globally recognised jewellery KOL, Katerina Perez, will launch the latest phase of her FLAIR jewellery art project in collaboration with GemGenève.

PRESS RELEASE | GENEVA, 27 OCTOBER 2021 – Jewellery insider Katerina Perez has collaborated with leading independent trade show GemGenève to debut the works of FLAIR community artists at its upcoming event in November 2021.

FLAIR @flairproject_official is an online gallery and independent multi-media artist community for those who create unique objects and works inspired by jewellery and gemstones. Members are carefully curated by Russian-born Paris-based key opinion leader (KOL), journalist and brand consultant, Katerina Perez, who is internationally recognised for her commitment to and knowledge of precious jewellery.

The output of 15 FLAIR artists from the UK, France, Germany and Russia, among other nations, will be showcased at the upcoming GemGenève trade event from November 4-7, 2021, with pieces available to purchase exclusively at the exhibition itself and on Instagram. From Perez’ perspective, this social media platform encourages the formation of a community of like-minded people and is the ideal space to share art and the process of making art, while also helping unique paintings, prints and art objects find a home.

FLAIR Project Founder, Katerina Perez, says: “FLAIR is a continuation of my mission to bring more awareness to precious jewellery and gemstones. This latest collaborative project with GemGenève is a wonderful way to spotlight FLAIR artists and introduce jewellery and gemstones into people’s lives in an unexpected and beautiful way. This project is also a tribute to my family. My mother restores paintings and my father antique furniture, so I believe I have inherited an artistic sensibility that benefits my work in the jewellery sector as well as informs my passion for multi-media art and design.”

Creatives are hand-picked to join the FLAIR community because of their ability to demonstrate originality, coupled with a strong DNA throughout their work and creative flair. Artists are tasked with preparing original work in their preferred medium, such as painting, sculpture, photography, haute couture or digital art, with the condition being that jewellery and/or gemstones must feature as the central character. Each member of FLAIR is chosen based on their skill and unique style, rather than their international recognition or fame, with the goal of introducing the world to “hidden gems” in their respective artistic fields.

At GemGenève, Celia Martorchini-Fabbri will offer an original take on digital art, in contrast to fashion photographer and artist, Ksenia Usacheva, who will present a series of photos and oil paintings. Renowned luxury brands illustrator, Hossein Borojeni, will showcase a series of black and white watercolour paintings in a traditional style of illustration, while London-based photographer, Julia Flit, will present two wall decorations with a pop of colour. Elsewhere, haute couture artist, Aigana Gali, will provide a unique hand-painted coat, while Anna Petrich has prepared a collection of hand-painted jewellery-inspired handbags.

The work of FLAIR artists will be located at Stand C11, in the centre of Palexpo convention centre in Geneva, Switzerland, to encourage visitors and exhibitors to discover pieces and meet some artists in person. Ksenia Usacheva, for example, will be doing live oil painting to allow visitors will witness ‘how the magic happens’. Katerina Perez will also be on-site to highlight a unique collaboration with master gem carving specialist, Pauly Carvings, which takes the form of a rock crystal sculpture of Perez’ hand. Titled ‘The Giving Hand’ – this piece serves as a reminder to ‘lend a hand’ and support those who need encouragement, guidance or help along their creative or personal journey.

Paintings, photos and haute couture can be purchased exclusively via the FLAIR Instagram platform – @flairproject_official – which was specifically chosen to facilitate a broader community of those who appreciate art, jewellery, gemmology and design.
