Ancient and Contemporary Japanese Kites Take Flight in Italy for ‘One Sky One World’ Peace Festival

The festivalโ€™s centerpiece, hosted at the historic Magazzino del Sale Torre, will feature an unprecedented exhibition dedicated to both ancient and contemporary Japanese kites. Organized under the sponsorship of the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Japanese Institute of Culture in Italy, and the Italian Association of Printing and Paper Museums, the event underscores ARTEVENTO’s long-standing role in promoting kites as an “intangible heritage of humanity.”

From April 20th to May 1st, 2024, the picturesque beach of Pinarella di Cervia, Italy, will once again play host to the world’s longest-running International Kite Festival, ARTEVENTO CERVIA. This year’s 44th edition promises to be a vibrant celebration of culture, resilience, and unity, with a special tribute to the Emilia Romagna region. Since its inception, ARTEVENTO CERVIA has served as a platform for “wind artists” to showcase their innovative creations and promote peace and sustainable development through cultural exchange. This year’s edition will feature twelve days dedicated to sustainable creativity, with a diverse program of guests, shows, insights, and celebrations.

ARTEVENTO CERVIA – World’s Longest-Running Kait Festival Returns to Italy for the 43 Time!

From 21 April to 1 May 2023, on Cervia’s Pinarella Beach (Italy), 250 designers and pilots selected from among the most significant interpreters of a millenary tradition, in constant dialogue with the environment, will join over 2000 enthusiasts for the 43rd Edition of ARTEVENTO CERVIA, the original festival dedicated to kites and the environment, which has become a cult event for both promoters of the wind art and lovers of green tourism as well as sustainable creativity. In simultaneous flight, the event will show the most complete presentation of artistic, ethnic, historical, giant, sport, acrobatic, and even combat kites! All visitors and participants will dive into the magical practice that was born over 2500 years ago.
