1960s Portraits of Famous Artists by Renowned TIME & LIFE Magazines Photographer Ben Martin are Now on View at Artplex Gallery, LA

Ben Martin (1930-2017) covered wars, fashion, politics, arts, business and sports for Time, Life, Fortune, People and Sports Illustrated for thirty-three years. He covered Martin Luther King during the Selma to Montgomery Civil Rights March, took the infamous sweaty five-o’clock shadow photograph of Richard Nixon during the Kennedy-Nixon TV debates in 1960 that Nixon claimed cost him the election, and photographed Timeโ€™s now famous โ€œSwinging Londonโ€ cover story. He photographed major cover essays on the 25th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy and 40th anniversaries of Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima, the Mozambique civil war from both the rebel and Portuguese sides and an arctic expedition to the North Pole. His photograph of President John F. Kennedyโ€™s funeral led to a Life magazine cover, and his coverage of Pope Paulโ€™s trip to the Holy Land was a cover feature in Time.

After 16 Years of Restoration St John’s Co-Cathedral’s Majestic 17th Century Tapestry to be Exhibited in Malta

The St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation is delighted to announce that The Set of Tapestriesย will be exhibited at St John’s Co-Cathedral after an extensive restoration process that lastedย 16 years at De Wit Laboratories in Belgium. The last time they were displayed was duringย  Pope St John Paul II’s visit to Malta in 1990.ย

The Bomb Factory Art Foundation is pleased to present All Things Fall, a solo exhibition featuring the work of contemporary British artist Mat Collishaw, from April 20th, 2023, to May 21st, 2023. The exhibit will be held at Bomb Factory Art Foundationโ€™s newest building in Marylebone.

Mat Collishaw is one of the most significant and compelling artists in contemporary British art. With an early foundation at Goldsmiths College, Collishaw formed part of the legendary movement of Young British Artists. He was one of 16 young artists who participated in the seminal Freeze exhibition organized by Damien Hirst in 1988 as well as the provocative Sensation show of 1997.ย

After the great success of the preview in 2022 in Rome, the SANTAFRIKA exhibition conceived by Sant’Era with the shots of visual designer Sabrina Poli lands in Kenya on the suggestive Manda Island inside the Blue Empire Cottage from 8 until 15 March 2023. On display will be a selection of about twenty photographs, printed on aluminum, featuring young Kenyan women dressed in original couture dresses from the well-known Maison Martin Margiela – Artisanal and Comme de Garรงons collections.

“There is No Excuse for Violence” Art Exhibition in Turkey | Exclusive Photos

The first of our ‘Silent Screams’ painting exhibitions, with which we set out with nearly 40 painters and our slogan ‘There is No Excuse for Violence’ was held on November 1, 2022. During this event Prof. Dr. Mansur Beyazyรผrek’s held a conference on violence and art. Our aim is to stand in against psychological and physical violence against women, men, animals, young people, old people, doctors, health workers, teachers, lawyers, judges, police, and all living beings.

Our second exhibition will be opening on 11.11.2022 in BOF HOTELS BUSINESS, Istanbul, Umraniye, Turkey. It will be held until 19.11.2022. A percentage of the revenues from our exhibition will be donated by the artists to the victims of violence and those in need.

ORTHO Successfully Launches Fashion Metaverse – Designer Le Thanh Hoa Delivers Unique Show

Fashion-oriented metaverse platform ORTHO – a Vietnamese digital fashion house – has successfully launched its virtual world that combines high fashion and high-tech elements. On October 27, ORTHO and famous Vietnamese fashion designer Le Thanh Hoa (LTH) organized the first virtual runway fashion show to present his unique collection called AN, which translates as peace. In addition to the metaverse runway experience, he delivered a physical show in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam.

The virtual show enjoyed tremendous success, attracting about 1,000 people who savored the fashion experience in the metaverse.

The physical show in Hanoi was attended by about 200 guests from the fashion industry. The presentation was filled with nostalgic, peaceful, yet not melancholic imagery.

Celebrated Nigerian artist Amarachi Okafor highlights Ecological Disaster

Well-known for the powerful messages conveyed across various media, Nigerian-based artist Amarachi Okafor decided to tackle a large-scale ecological disaster created by countless small, discarded cigarette butts in her latest work.

Now that effort will be featured in an upcoming exhibition “Announcing beauty, mercy, kindness and love” a rare retrospective exhibition chronicling 20 years of practice by the critically acclaimed Nigerian artist and curator. The exhibition opened October 29 at the Lagosโ€™ Red Door Gallery, and will be open until November 19, 2022.
