Andy Firth is a self-taught Australian artist of the social generation, known for his signature canvas: the human skull. Capturing the gentle intricacies of lives once lived, Firthโ€™s work has captivated an engaged audience of over 2.5 million people Worldwide! His clientele includes Joe Rogan, Slash, Jason Momoa, Chris Brown and Nikkie Tutorials.

For the past decade, Firth has remained widely anonymous under the title โ€˜Jack Of The Dustโ€™. Established in a home garage in 2013, his operationโ€™s alluring namesake is an 1800s Royal Navy term that represents Firthโ€™s revival of characters, cultures and the stories that surround them. Firth has now grown โ€˜Jack of The Dustโ€™ to a full-time crew of 15, and operates from two Burleigh Heads warehouses spanning 7500 square feet on Australiaโ€™s Gold Coast. โ€˜Jack of The Dustโ€™ exists to crack through the limits of imagination on adventure, where the human experience is never truly dead! Tom Glynn is a rare breed: an artist who can move effortlessly between artforms, materials, scales and registers, equally adept at making miniature paintings andย  monumental sculptures. And yet all of his work is unmistakably English in mood.ย  His images are populated by the countryโ€™s Neolithic monuments and pastoral landscapes, and informed by the many artists who inhabited those places before him.ย  Glynn is driven by the same Romantic spirit that motivated Palmer and Turner, Nashย  and Piper, Wallis, Lanyon and Hockney, but his art is never anything but his own. A Modern Romantic: Reflections on the Art of Tom Glynn

If some artists are born and others made, Tom Glynn is undoubtedly one of the former. Growing up in West Sussex in the 1950s and 60s, he possessed a voraciousย  aesthetic sensibility from the start. Not long after beginning at school, aged five,ย  he spent the best part of a week constructing an elaborate tunneled structure in aย  sandpit โ€“ astonishing his teachers in the process. In subsequent years he fashionedย  animals from plasticine, made assemblages from scavenged wood, sketched onย  scraps of paper, and built miniature model theatres. As he grew older, Glynn becameย  interested in earlier artists, establishing what he has called a โ€˜lifelong friendshipโ€™ย  with the work of Picasso, Matisse, Arp and Brancusi. But his ambitions to becomeย  a serious artist himself only crystallized at the age of fifteen, when he visited theย  studio of the great post-war British sculptor, Robert Adams. Glynn even showedย  the older artist some of his own creations, which Adams is said to have admired.ย

Atlanta Hawks and Novelis unveil 404 lbs upcycled aluminum sculpture to celebrate their Award-Winning Partnership

ATLANTA โ€“ Before Wednesday nightโ€™s game, the Hawks and Novelis unveiled โ€œFULL COURT PRESSโ€, a sculpture made up of nearly 404 lbs. of upcycled aluminum cups and cans in the shape of the primary Hawks logo. The piece is located on the Terrace level by the Gate 2 entrance at State Farm Arena.

โ€œFULL COURT PRESSโ€ celebrates the one-year anniversary of the Hawksโ€™ partnership with Novelis, the world’s largest recycler of aluminum, which officially launched on National Recycling Day in 2021.

This sculpture symbolizes a circular economy where maximum effort is employed to make sure precious resources are recycled and reused, rather than discarded as waste.

We learned from the press that the Pontifical Delegation for the Basilica of Saint Anthony ofย Padua appointed a scientific committee composed of four scholars to evaluate the conservation and restoration program of the “Equestrian Statue of Gattamelata” which stands out in the square adjacent to the Basilica of Padua.

Since 2020, Ce.St.Art and the association Territori have conceived, promoted, and presented a far-reaching project which covers not only the restoration of the “Gattamelata Statue” but above all the restoration of the “Deposition of Christ” by Donatello stored inside the Basilica and which, while representing an absolute masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance, is in a questionable condition.

Celebrated Nigerian artist Amarachi Okafor highlights Ecological Disaster

Well-known for the powerful messages conveyed across various media, Nigerian-based artist Amarachi Okafor decided to tackle a large-scale ecological disaster created by countless small, discarded cigarette butts in her latest work.

Now that effort will be featured in an upcoming exhibition “Announcing beauty, mercy, kindness and love” a rare retrospective exhibition chronicling 20 years of practice by the critically acclaimed Nigerian artist and curator. The exhibition opened October 29 at the Lagosโ€™ Red Door Gallery, and will be open until November 19, 2022.

Internationally recognized artist and filmmaker Annalaura di Luggo unveils “Collรฒculi” – her most artistic challenge!

“Collรฒculi” is an immersive, multimedia interactive work made in the shape of a Giant Eye from recycled aluminum. The symbolism of recycling is both suggestive of environmental rebirth as well as the deeper meaning of taking old thrown away emotions and creating new, more positive views through new eyes.
