MEDEA Contemporary Art Exhibition curated by Demetrio Paparoniย 

The exhibition includes works by 17 artists created specifically on the theme of Medea,ย one of the most famous and controversial characters in Greek mythology. It reveals the extent to which the story of the sorceress, infanticide in Euripidesโ€™ย narration, still affects the imagination of our times. Through the unprecedented gazeย of contemporary artists from different geographical areas โ€“ from Northern Europe toย China, from the Caucasus region to South-East Asia, as well as Italy โ€“ the exhibitionย highlights the inseparable link between Siracusa and ancient theatre. Classical tragedy is thus revived in Siracusa through contemporary artistic expressions also in theย field of visual arts.

Freaky-Deek is a talented sculptor and videographer hailing from the Black Forest region in Germany. He has been showcasing his work in various galleries, exhibitions, and social media platforms. Having grown tired of just typing on a keyboard, freaky-Deek decided to dive into his creative passion and start his own business. As a former figurine collector, he wanted to create something truly unique and dynamic. So, he combined his electronics skills with his love for art and crafted sculptures with added features such as lights and sound. Stunning Stingray Throne by Didier Guenard – An Oak Barrel Story

Didier Guenard is a known artist, furniture maker, and restorer from France that specialized in wooden art and dรฉcor. His signature creations are works of fine furniture made from vintage and antique oak barrels. Didier uniquely repurposed, perfected, and mastered the wood of these vessels, teaching the world – the art of revealing a straight line within a curve.

For centuries oak barrels have been used to store and transport wine and spirits, but they also have a second life as a material for making artistic furniture. The sturdy and durable oak wood can be transformed into unique and beautiful pieces that add a rustic and vintage charm to any space. The process of making artistic furniture from these barrels is a creative and innovative endeavor that requires a skilled craftsman.

French Restorer & Furniture Maker, Didier Guenard, Tells His Story of Creativity and Innovation

The different woods used in this piece were turned, sculpted, and include marquetry. It had six drawers, one cylindrical with a sprung ejection mechanism that can be used to store a bottle, and another with a retractable curtain closing. Pushing theย button made of boxwood burl makes the midnight blue writing table advance, revealing aย half-cylindrical pen holder. Opening the door with the horn handle reveals partitions andย two small drawers with varnished interiors. It goes without saying that this piece also contains a secret space โ€ฆ location of which must remain a secret!

The artist ANTOINETTE, together with her technology partner BizzTech, have created a photorealistic museum space ofย  unprecedented image quality in the Metaverse for the ALTAR of EUROPA. The ALTAR of EUROPA is a real existing, 100m2 drawing consisting of millions of individual pencil strokes created by ANTOINETTE during three years of work . The image density of this monumental work of art is an ideal example to demonstrate the power ofย the browser-based multi-polygon technology used. In the digital world, every detail of the drawing becomes visible and perspectives and sections can be explored that would not beย accessible when visiting the physical exhibition. ‘STREET ART FOR RIGHTS’ Concludes in Rome

In Rome, 17 murals dedicated to the UN 2030 Agenda spread the culture of sustainability through street art.

The recently completed last wall by the well-known street artist Fabio Petani officially concludes the 3rd edition of Street Art for Rights in Rome, the festival that narrates and spreads the culture of sustainability through street art, in the sign of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Agenda.

Street Art for Rights has established itself as a reference point for street art in Italy with over 30 works realized in Rome in the suburbs of Corviale and Settecamini and in Lazio between Cassino, Fiumicino and Latina. A true open-air museum that offers all fans and not, especially during the Christmas holidays, to get to know a ‘New Rome’ unprecedented and little known.

Deposition of Christ by Donatello – The Mystery of a Restoration

We learned from the press that the Pontifical Delegation for the Basilica of Saint Anthony ofย Padua appointed a scientific committee composed of four scholars to evaluate the conservation and restoration program of the “Equestrian Statue of Gattamelata” which stands out in the square adjacent to the Basilica of Padua.

Since 2020, Ce.St.Art and the association Territori have conceived, promoted, and presented a far-reaching project which covers not only the restoration of the “Gattamelata Statue” but above all the restoration of the “Deposition of Christ” by Donatello stored inside the Basilica and which, while representing an absolute masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance, is in a questionable condition.
